The Toddler Class

18 months - 2.5 years old

 

The ratio is one teacher for every five children, with a maximum of 16 children within the toddler class.

In the toddler program we look at the children and recognize their individual needs, which is reflected in our activities that allow children to be able to express what they feel, think and have freedom to explore without restrictions.  Our program involves various activities which incorporates art elements that encourage children to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate themselves. Our daily activities evolve through observations and requests from the children in order to foster the children’s interests, meet the developmental goals and keep things fun.

Wee Leprechauns Child Care Centre aims to provide an environment, which contains various materials and toys that encourages the children to engage in different types of play and activities designed to focus on a wide range of skills including role play, fine and gross motor, problem solving, communicating, creating, imaging, numbers and letters, colours, shapes, building and discovering. 

​​

While in the toddler room teachers will work closely with their families to help guide the children through the toilet training stages. At Wee Leprechauns Child Care Centre our goal is for children to transition into the preschool room either fully toilet trained or in the final stages of toilet training.

The Preschool Class

2.5 years - 4 years old

 

The ratio is one teacher for every eight children with a maximum of 16 children within our preschool room.

In the preschool program we look at the children and recognize their individual needs, which is reflected in our activities that allow children to be able to express what they feel, think and have freedom to explore without restrictions.  Our program involves various activities which incorporates art elements that encourage children to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate. Our daily activities evolve through observations and requests from the children in order to foster the children’s interests, meet the developmental goals and keep things fun.

We also encourage community members such as librarians, police, dentists, fire department, yoga and music teachers to come into the centre to help teach the kids about their job, have photos taken, read stories, sing songs and other fun activities.

Wee Leprechauns Child Care Centre aims to provide our preschool children with the confidence to participate in both small and large group activities designed to focus on a wide range of skills including role play, fine and gross motor, problem solving, communicating, creating, imaging, numbers and letters, colours, writing, lacing, puzzles, shapes, science and nature experiences, arts and crafts and building.

At Wee Leprechauns Child Care Centre our goal is for the preschool children to leave our centre with the confidence and ability to enter the school system seamlessly.

Kindergarten

4 years - 6 years old

 

Wee Leprechauns Child Care Centre has an AM & PM program for the Kindergarten children. The morning program runs from 7:30am - 8:45am and the afternoon program runs from 3pm - 6pm. 

​​

In the morning, the children will have a morning snack and the time and space to play in any of our play centres with their other friends before heading to school on the bus. 

​​

In the afternoon, the children will be given an afternoon snack, have outdoor play time and play in any of our play centres with their friends. 

​

Wee Leprechauns Child Care Centre also offers full days during PA days, Winter breaks and over the Summer. Winter and Summer breaks will be run as a camp and details will be available when enrolled.

Our goal for the Kindergarten children is to have fun while learning using various small and large group activities including role play, fine and gross motor, science and nature experiences, arts and crafts, and building.

Camps 

3.5 years - 6 years old

 

Wee Leprechauns Child Care Centre now offers Summer Art based Camps and Winter Art based Camps for children aged 3.5 to 6 years old. Summer camp runs all of July and August and Winter camp runs during March Break & Christmas Break.

Our goal for the Camp children is to have fun while learning in a natural casual way using various small and large group activities including role play, fine and gross motor, science and nature experiences, the arts, and building. We may take children on Field Trips during these camps.

​​

Our Field trips may be to places like:

Ripley's Aquarium, ROM, Kensington Market, Library visits, High Park, local parks, Toronto Train Museum, The Pirate Life Adventures, Sporting events and so much more.
